My name is Leo Baxter. I am 44 years old, married, and father of 3 kids. My family has been part of Jackson for over 10 years, and during that time we have come to love the STAR Center! Knowing staff members and clients helped us come to appreciate how important and effective the STAR Center is to the community.
Our kids got to tour the facility a few years ago (the sensory rooms being a notable favorite), and my wife and I have volunteered for several events benefitting the center over the years. From our many connections, and love of the mission and vision of the STAR Center, I jumped at the chance to work here.
I now get to impact lives as an Assistive Technology Specialist. Meeting new people, assessing their technological needs, and connecting them with what will help them overcome limitations and reach their potential makes this job one of the best things I get to do.
