Dr. Allison (Shipp) Berry

Dr. Allison (Shipp) Berry has worked with individuals with disabilities since 1996 in a variety of settings, including employment, community living, and education. She worked at the STAR Center from 2013-2017 and returned to STAR in 2024. Dr. Berry specializes in vocational rehabilitation, assistive technology, workplace accommodations, vocational evaluations, pre-employment training, job placement, and supported employment services for people with disabilities. She enjoys helping individuals reach their full potential through natural supports, technology, skills training, and accommodations. Dr. Berry has a Ph.D. from Auburn University in rehabilitation counseling and special education. She has also been a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) since 2005 and a Certified Employment Support Professional (CESP) since 2016. Dr. Berry is considered an expert in the field of vocational rehabilitation, providing her subject matter expertise in courtrooms across the country as well as assisting with the development of national certification examinations in both assistive technology (ATP) and supported employment (CESP). Personally, Dr. Berry has a large blended family of eight. She enjoys giving back to the community, board games, Christian rock concerts, weekend road trips, and spending time with her family.
