The New Year is off to a great start and The STAR Center Board of Directors is pleased to announce the hiring of Dave Bratcher as the organization’s next President. He will assume this new role on Monday, January 12th. “The future at STAR is bright and we look forward to working alongside Dave to reach new heights this year and for many years to come,” said Diane Rushing, current Board Chair.
The STAR Center has been providing life-changing services to children and adults with special needs since 1987. The future of the STAR Center is ensured with Mr. Bratcher’s leadership, the dedicated staff, the guidance of the Board, and the support of the community.
Bratcher has served his community in a variety of ways for over a decade. From his church to the School Board, he has a proven track record of leadership and putting the needs of others ahead of his own. “I look forward to begin such important work, and very humbled by the opportunity,” said Bratcher.
Built around a very specific need in the beginning, Margaret and Chuck Doumitt planted a seed that has continued to grow for the last 27 years. Bratcher concluded, “We stand on the shoulders of those who came before us. The STAR Center staff is comprised of an amazing group of dedicated professionals who wake up every day with a singular focus: To help any individual with any disability to realize their potential.”
