The STAR Center’s mission is to help any person with any disability to realize their potential.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 1988 and provide services to all ages and needs. Our services include Assistive Technology, Music Therapy, Speech Therapy, Transition Services, Vocational Training, Job Placement, and Home Care with the aims of employment, education, and independence.

Our 33,000 sq. ft. headquarters is located in the city of Jackson, Tennessee between Memphis and Nashville. We have a staff of over 110, many of whom provide services off-site. Our primary service area is the 21 counties of West Tennessee, but we provide Assistive Technology services to Vocational Rehabilitation clients in all 95 counties in Tennessee. On an annual basis we serve approximately 4,000 individuals with disabilities or other special needs.

Our facility is dedicated to George and Angela Doumitt, who were the inspiration of our founding in 1988.
